HAVE A WHALE OF A TIME
Whale watching at Ardmore – takes you to the very edge of excitement, with a whale of a time!
For a stay with a difference, make the most of the enviable location of the Cliff Cottage and the expertise of one of Ireland’s leading whale watchers, Andrew Malcolm, and stay in picturesque Ardmore, with a view to seeing some of these spectacular creatures with your own eyes.
Harbour porpoise, common dolphins and fin whales are usually present between October and March each year, off the Ardmore cliff, and occasionally a humpback whale may turn up too. Capitalise on this rare pleasure with a luxurious stay in the 5 star seaside boutique beauty and intimate holiday hideaway set into the coast, overlooking the picturesque and historic village of Ardmore in West Waterford, and get to boast of your whale watching prowess, weather and mood-dependent, of course!
Wrapping up warm, with binoculars, campstools and flasks of warm drinks provided by the hotel, Andrew will guide guests to Rams Head on the Cliff Walk, where then a certain degree of patience is required. Andrew will introduce flora and fauna of the area while waiting, and while sightings obviously cannot be guaranteed, only the other day Andrew saw 200 dolphins and a fin whale!
