Our team of sommeliers at Cliff House Hotel work closely with chef Martijn Kajuiter to equal his innovative modern Irish cuisine with an exciting, surprising wine list. Bottles are stored in a glass-walled wine cellar for your perusal.
A compelling beer list is also available, alongside Champagnes, sparkling wines and classic, organic and dessert wines.
Our Head Sommelier, Thierry Sauvanot, was born in Paris but spend his childhood in Burgundy — the home of Chablis. So began his love of wine. After spending many years working in London at Marcus Wareing, Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant, Thierry moved to Cliff House Hotel.
The wines on our list reflect a true diversity of styles and countries from both the old and new worlds. Impeccably informed – and always exploratory – we present an interesting array of tastes and flavours. Sometimes even Japanese sake finds itself on to the wine tasting menu, devised to accompany the nine-course fine dining experience in The House Restaurant.
Wine dinners at Cliff House Hotel are a very special treat. Oenophiles can enjoy an hour-long wine masterclass and wine tasting delivered by our Sommelier, followed by an inventive dinner menu created by CLIFF Executive Chef Martijn Kajuiter, served in the Chef’s Table Room.
