This active adventure allows you to get up close to the birds, seals and dolphins of Ardmore Bay with sit-on sea kayaks. You can explore sea cliffs, caves, sea stacks and pay a visit to the Samson wreck. Ages 13+

ON THE WATER
Surfing – €120 for 2 hours
Experience the thrill of surfing on the best waves along Ireland’s south coast with a two-hour session at Whiting Bay. This stunning stretch of shoreline offers ideal conditions for both beginners and seasoned surfers, with expert guidance to help you make the most of every swell. Feel the salt air, embrace the Atlantic energy, and take to the water for an unforgettable coastal adventure — all for just €120.
IRELAND'S MOST UNIQUE GOLF HOLE
Hole-in-One Golf: At the hotel, we have a golf tee box in the gardens allowing you to hit an environmentally-friendly golf ball towards a floating pontoon out in Ardmore Bay.
Cost: €2 per ball.
These biodegradable golf balls turn into fish food in 48 hours.
Ireland’s world-class championship courses include Old Head of Kinsale with its 300ft cliffs, and Mount Juliet – both a 90-minute drive from Ardmore.
Fota Island Golf Club and Waterford Castle Golf are challenging, picturesque courses and within an hour’s drive of our hotel.
Local courses for a quick round include Youghal Golf Club, Dungarvan Golf Club, The Gold Coast and West Waterford Golf Club.
GUIDED NATURE AND HISTORICAL TRAILS
Waterford Greenway
The Waterford Greenway is a spectacular 46 km off-road cycling and walking trail along an old railway line from the quays of Ireland’s oldest city all the way to Dungarvan. For guests looking to Get Cliff Fit, we can arrange a family picnic, local bike hire from Dungarvan Greenway Bike Hire and return transfers to the nearby Dungarvan.
Our guided hike in the Comeragh Mountains (40-minute drive) follows the Coumshinghuan Loop Walk with its dramatic rocky coums. This is a full day excursion, available by request for a minimum of two people.
Local Cliff Walk – Map available at spa reception
This unguided route from the hotel takes you around Ardmore Head and Ram’s Head, passing the Sampson wreck and Father O’Donnell’s Well.
