Our one Michelin-starred hotel restaurant in Ireland is simply named The House Restaurant at The Cliff House Hotel.

This lack of pretension underpins chef Martijn Kajuiter’s award winning Irish cuisine and the way he sources the maximum possible amount of produce grown on Irish land and fished from Irish seas. Yet his exploratory, confident style results in explosively interesting dishes combining modern progressive and straightforward Irish cooking.

The fine dining experience is open for dinner from 6.30pm, and comprises both a tasting menu as well as à la carte options enjoyed in our ocean-facing, glass-walled dining room with a sea-coloured carpet, silvery velvet banquettes and plush tweed chairs.

The adjacent private dining room features a fire and dramatic, 20ft-long oak table.

AN EVER-EVOLVING MENU

Menus change as regularly as the team’s explorations, with Kitchen Chefs Stephen Hayes and Darren Mulvihill helping to ensure standards are always high.

Stephen has recently returned to Cliff House Hotel after almost two years at the three Michelin-starred Dutch restaurant, De Librije.

Darren is originally from Limerick and worked at the 5-star Doonbeg Resort before joining the team at Cliff House Hotel in 2012 and working his way through the ranks.

The House Restaurant is also where houseguests can enjoy an à la carte breakfast until 11am — the price included in your room rate. Dishes include a full Irish breakfast, as well as local oatmeal porridge or smoked salmon with spinach, egg and tartar sauce.

The menus provided below should be treated as samples only. Wine pairings – including tasting menus – are provided by our cellar.

In summer, House Restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday nights. In winter it is closed on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday nights. There are exceptions in weeks with bank holidays.
