AN OCEANSIDE MICHELIN-STARRED IRISH RESTAURANT

Our award-winning restaurant at Cliff House Hotel, Ireland, attracts foodies from all over the world to this seaside village in West Waterford. Both our main House Restaurant as well as our easy, unpretentious bar honour the great produce of Waterford, Cork, and the Irish Sea.

House Restaurant operates for dinner from Wednesday to Saturday in winter, and Tuesday to Saturday in summer, opening Sunday nights on bank holiday weekends. Bar Restaurant is open every day from 11am for all day dining.

THE HOUSE RESTAURANT

The House Restaurant at Cliff House Hotel carries a Michelin star, with simple principles espoused by chef Martijn Kajuiter. He sources as much produce as possible from Ireland, be it land or sea. On top of this he then layers an exploratory, confident style, resulting in interesting dishes which are modern and progressive, and unlike anything else you will eat on the Emerald Isle.

THE BAR RESTAURANT

In our relaxed Bar Restaurant, you will find a menu that is both sophisticated and easygoing – a tribute to the very best Irish cuisine.

Presided over by CLIFF’s Executive Chef Martijn Kajuiter, the menus offer a wide selection of sandwiches and seafood dishes, including monkfish, Helvick cod, local crab, and chowder.

Rib-eye steaks are meltingly soft, while the desserts are classic Irish comfort food taken to the next level.

AFTERNOON TEA

Featuring the prettiest, tastiest savoury and sweet delights imaginable, Afternoon Tea in The House restaurant will feature some enchanting surprises to add art and theatre to your afternoon as only Martijn Kajuiter knows how.

For Afternoon Tea at The Cliff House Hotel, along with the sandwich selection – which includes organic egg mayonnaise and corned beef on Waterford Blaa, Yawl Bay Crab with lemon and scallion, organic West Cork smoked salmon with cucumber, and Gubbeen cheese, rocket and tomato – there are delicious, freshly baked goodies to add to the treat too.

Warm, freshly baked raisin and buttermilk scones with cream, homemade red fruit preserves and lemon curd, Ardmore carrot cake with pistachio, Irish tea and whiskey fruit cake, and white chocolate and lemon tart with a fluffy candy floss topping all add to the pleasure.

Afternoon Tea costs €35 per person

Cliff House Hotel Afternoon Tea runs from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the House restaurant on the last Sunday of most months.
